The quality of the works, the protection of the environment and the health and safety of the workers have always been the targets of Impregilo. Today, due to the growing importance that these requests are assuming also in the economic and industrial world, the Company Management thinks it is necessary to promote a Quality, Environment and Safety Policy which serves as guide and reference point for all the staff and for all the sectors in which Impregilo operates today and will operate in future.

To improve its efforts to obtain the quality of the products and services, in the protection of the environment, in the prevention of pollution and to guarantee the health and safety of the workers, Impregilo undertakes to operate in line with the following principles:

• full compliance with the current standard at community, national and local level,
• identification, for each activity, of the significant environmental aspects to prevent and minimize environmental impact and reduce the possible pollution sources,
• put in operation a health & safety management system to eliminate or minimize risks of its employees and the other stakeholders who can be exposed to health & safety risks associated with own activities;
• assurance of the quality of the product, of the respect of the environment and guarantee of the workers’ safety and health in all the working environments and sectors. This commitment also extends to the workers of the subcontractors operating in its sites,
• use of processes, technologies and materials which permit the reduction of the consumptions of the natural resources and which involve the lowest possible impact on the quality, environment and safety of the workers,
• measurement and analysis of the accident indexes of the employees and of those of the subcontractors, to continually reduce industrial accidents,
• encouragement in the research and development of new processes in line with the targets of environmental improvement and recovery of the ecosystems,
• limitation of waste production by reusing it where possible,
• use in an exclusive way of authorized firms, specialized in the collection of items for recycling,
• decrease at the least of the possibility of the accidental spill or spreading on the ground of the dangerous substances,
• recondition of the site areas at end of works, in order to requalify the territory and return the environment as far as possible to the initial conditions,
• involvement and motivation of all the staff, through information and training, on the themes of quality management, safety in the work sites and the environmental aspects,
• involvement of own suppliers and subcontractors in the fulfilment of the present policy and the objectives defined,
• carrying out of periodical internal inspections and audits to verify the correct implementation of the quality, environment and safety management system, in order to prevent eventual situations of non conformity,
• elaboration and setting of environmental and security emergency plans,
• comparison and open dialogue with all stakeholders involved in its production processes - citizens, customers, authorities, associations – to compare and make available their know-how and experience,
• annual preparation of the Environmental Report, as main instrument of communication and information of the environmental policies towards its stakeholders,
• structuring of the company’s quality, environment and safety management system, in conformance with the UNI EN ISO 9001 – UNI EN ISO 14001 – OHSAS 18001 standards.

The above principles are translated by the Company Management into measurable targets and goals which are periodically monitored and re-examined. These targets are aimed at the improvement of the supplied products and services and at the reduction of environmental impact and the consumptions of natural resources.
The Management undertakes, through a constant dialogue with the collaborators and the parties involved, to periodically re-examine the validity and adequacy of this document in order to keep it always adherent to the company’s spirit.
