19.01.2012 - Impregilo: Ecorodovias awarded new motorway concession in Brazil
  • EcoRodovias, of which Impregilo International Infrastructures N.V. holds joint control, has won the BR 101 motorway concession bidding process in the state of Espirito Santo.
  • The contract strengthens the Impregilo Group’s international positioning in the concessions business, and in motorways in particular, where it now manages approximately 2600 kilometres of infrastructure in Brazil, Argentina and Colombia.

Impregilo said that EcoRodovias – a leading motorway and logistics operator in Brazil of which Impregilo International Infrastructures N.V. holds joint control – had been awarded a new motorway concession in Brazil, the BR 101 federal highway in the state of Espirito Santo.

The concession has a 25-year term.

The BR 101 is a 476 km highway linking the state of Rio de Janeiro with the state of Bahia.

The initiative requires the operator to improve and expand the motorway doubling  the present carriageway and installing new toll stations.

With the acquisition of the new BR 101 motorway concession, Ecorodovias, which is listed on the São Paulo stock exchange, now manages an infrastructure network of approximately 1900 kilometres in Brazil, as well as important logistic terminals and intermodal platforms in the south and south-east of the country.

The new award strengthens the Impregilo Group’s successful development policy of the last twenty years in the concessions business, notably motorway networks, where it has positioned itself as a major international player with approximately 2600 kilometres of infrastructure under management in Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.
